How to build a social media content plan

Regular posting is one part of a useful plan. Content should explain your brand, answer customer questions and make the next step clear.

Start with goals and customer questions

Decide what the content should achieve before choosing a posting frequency. Introducing a service, presenting a product and generating enquiries require different messages. Collect the questions customers ask during sales conversations. Who is the service for? How does the process work? How can they contact you? Give each post one main idea.

Define content themes and a consistent voice

Organise content around service explanations, process, examples and common questions. Keep typography, spacing, colours and tone consistent, while choosing the format for the subject. A Reel can show a process; a carousel can explain several steps; a story can carry a timely announcement.

Plan production and approval

Record the copy, visual assets, owner and approval deadline alongside each publishing date. Work backwards from the release date when photography or editing is needed. Leave room for updates and check permissions, current campaign details and contact links before publication.

Evaluate results against the goal

Likes alone do not explain whether the plan is working. Saved posts and questions may matter for educational content; relevant enquiries may matter for lead generation. Compare content with similar goals over an appropriate period, then use what you learn in the next plan. Laccot Medya brings planning, design and profile management together within the agreed scope.

Before you start

  • Give each post one goal.
